Dr. Matthew Ticola
Dr. Matthew Ticola was born and raised along the Gulf coast in Sarasota, FL. He graduated from the University of Florida with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology in 1999. He then went on to receive his doctorate from the University Of Florida College Of Dentistry in 2003.
After several years in public service through the National Health Service Corps and the Department of Health and after realizing his passion for children and those with special needs, Dr. Ticola entered into a pediatric specialty program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2010. He was selected in 2011 as a SPARKS Trainee furthering his exposure and interest in delivering dental care to those with special needs. Also in 2011, Dr. Ticola was selected to be the Chief Resident, sharing his experience, leadership, and skills with faculty and his fellow residents. While in residency, Dr. Ticola traveled to many parts of Alabama treating children and educating them on the importance of good dental health.
Dr. Ticola enjoys running, cycling, paddle boarding, scuba, watching football and spending time with his family. He is supported by his wife Daphne and their three sons. Having worked throughout the great state of Alabama, Dr. Ticola is happy to call the beautiful Tennessee Valley his home.
